February 2005...
Bali was definitely the place to be...
Escaping myself from routine and going crazy...
A single man without purpose wanting to be free...
Never thought what God had in store for me...

I met this girl named Vonny...
Not love at first sight but I thought she’s lovely...
Oh how wonderful Bali must be...
A friend took pictures as if we’re a couple already...

We called each other O’fish and Birdy...
Because we’re so different in our personality...
But friendship needed nothing but comfort and sincerity...
That even a fish and a bird could stay together peacefully...

December 2005...
Time passed by and feelings grew...
None of us expected it or even had a clue...
Friendship we’d developed turned into something new...
Something that’s possible only if it’s true...

Something that enforced us to say “I love you”...

May 2006...
The thought came out of the blue...
Where would I go from here, what would I do...
I had a lover and a friend in her that’s what I knew...
Something must be done or my life would be through...

Something that enforced me to say “I want to marry you”...
And when I asked “Do you want to?” she replied “Yes, I do”...

Meeting the parents was actually frightening...
You say one thing wrong and it will all go to nothing...
Surabaya and Bandung were not nearby cities for travelling...
Fortunately they all loved us and gave us their blessing...

But seeing them while alive, we loose our mood...

2009.01.15 - Kumpul-Kumpul Kahendran

Hari Minggu siang, tanggal 11-01-2009, para Kahendran berkumpul di Rumah Budhe Wir di Cinere, Jakarta. Pertemuan ini khususnya mengumpulkan para generasi keduanya, namun tentu saja membawa para Ayah Bunda dari generasi pertama semakin menambah semarak suasana.

.

Acara utama adalah makan siang bersama, yang menunya seadanya, yaitu patungan saling membawa untuk dimakan bersama. Tadinya menu direncanakan Chinesse Food saja, yaitu Mie, Cap Cay dan Fu Yung Hai. Namun kemudian Ferdi dan Rino (suaminya Pipit) hadir dari Surabaya, maka saya nitip dibawakan Bebek Goreng Surabaya oleh mereka, lengkap dengan Sambel Bu Rudi yang terkenal seantero dunia (maaf, berlebihan, hehehe). Eh, ternyata oh ternyata, Mbak Ira sebagai tuan rumah, melengkapinya dengan satu set Lalapan Lengkap beserta Sambel Terasi buatan sendiri. Dan juga tak lupa Es Buah yang dibawakan oleh Mbak Heni, jauh-jauh dari Bogor. Nyam-nyam-myam sekali ini semua.

.

Dan sebagai snack utamanya adalah Krupuk Upil yang dibeli Mbak Ira di Pasar setempat. Dan masih ditambah lagi dengan Sambel Umbel bikinan Mbak Ira yang sangat cocok dengan krupuknya. Untung saja Mbak Ira memang pilek sehari sebelumnya, jadi umbelnya cukup banyak untuk dibuat sambel, hehehe... (...ieuwwhhh...jijik banget...hehehe...)

Rumah Budhe Wir ini baru. Memang lokasinya tetap di Cinere, tapi beda alamat sedikit aja, tak sampai 200 meter jaraknya dari rumah lama. Suasananya cukup hangat dan sama sekali tak beda dengan atmosfir rumah lama yang Jawa banget itu.

.

So, everybody had a good time there, I'm sure. We're now of course looking forward to our next gathering. Hopefully Mbak Trin from far away Down Under can enjoy us again up here next time. :-)

2009.03.10 - Libur Maulid Nabi

Dimulai dan diakhiri dengan kemacetan di jalan tol yang berkepanjangan, liburan long weekend di Bandung kali ini cukuplah menyenangkan...

Diwarnai dengan beberapa sakit yang kami derita:
1. Dede Pram kena virus entah-berantah sampe badannya merah-merah.
2. Mamah Vonny dipijet karena kecapekan dan masuk angin.
3. Papah Prima demam juga sampai keluar keringat dingin.
4. Dede Pram jatuh pas merangkak, kepalanya kejedot lantai sampai BENJOL biru di dahi kanannya.

Dihiasi dengan makanan yang lezat tentunya:
1. Tulang Jambal Pedas bikinan Ibu Mertua.
2. Ayam Kalio yang dibuat khusus untukku oleh Ibu Mertua juga.
3. Lontong Medan bikinan Adik Ipar yang buka WARUNG AGA di Gazeebo tiap Minggu pagi.
4. Nasi Pecel Kediri di Gazeebo juga untuk memuaskan nafsu makan yang sedang memuncak.
5. Crispy Duck, bebek goreng yang sengaja dibuat sesuai dengan buku resep Primarasa.

Ah, capeknya...
Ah, senangnya...
Ah, romantisnya...karena Bandung tiap hari diguyur hujan...hehehe...

2009.03.14 - The Day Of My Birthday

It wasn't as I planned...

How the day of my birthday I have spent...

All the gloomy thoughts suddenly gone early...

With smiles and kisses from my loved ones so dearly...

.

We went to Cianjur, a nice small village...

Where relatives of my wive's held a baby-shower to celebrate...

And as everyone knew I would come...

They prepared my favourite menu, the head of a lamb...

.

I was so happy and ate a lot...

But the celebration didn't stop at that spot...

We then went to their farm nearby...

Completed with a pond, where a hut was standing by...

.

We had fun harvesting some fruit and vegetable...

And also fishing, which I was the only one not able...

After doing all the work, we ate again, yes we did...

The fish, one of them was as big as half a man's leg, were grilled...

.

The fruit was orange which as big as a soccer ball...

And the drink was the water of coconut directly from the tree's fall...

It was a day of stomach fulfillment activities, my birthday...

It wasn't as I planned, but surely happiness was what I felt all the way...

2009.03.26 - My Birthday With Friends From My Office

My Friends from my Office...

They gave me a chocholate cake for my Birthday...

They surprised me with the candles of my no-longer-young age...

As ashamed as I was to have my age shown off, how can I resist the attention...

.

And then a week afterward, I threw a small lunch party at my house for them...

My wife was so excited because her hand-made chilli successfully boosted their apetite a lot...

And as far as their stomache goes, they all went home in full tank...

But the entertainment didn't stop there, for we all were very fond of photography...

.

Near my house, there's a beautiful swimming pool at the Marketing Office of the Residence...

Placed at the top of the hill, the pool had a vast view over the valey below...

The swimming pool itself was a treat, so altogether it made a nice entertainmet...

My friends and I couldn't get enough of taking pictures had it not due to the dark coulds and rain approaching...

I had a good time celebrating my birthday with my Friends from my Office...

I hope they felt the same... :-)
