2010.01.25 - My Wife Makes Movies

Once upon a time...
I really wanted to see NINE...
Musical was not my wife’s kind of movies...
But we agreed to see it anyway...

Once upon a Monday morning...
I was really excited to see NINE...
My wife wasn’t that enthusiastic...
She even forgot about this after-work movie date...

Once upon the same morning...
I bought snack to chew for later seeing NINE...
It was my wife’s favorite Kripik Singkong...
I wrote about it in her Facebook wall hoping to boost her spirit...

Once upon a Monday highnoon...
I was hoping for her comment about our date seeing NINE...
My post on her Facebook gained many responses...
But none of those comments came from her...

Once upon a Monday before work-end...
I called her about which cinema to go seeing NINE...
She was reluctant and suggested to postpone it until the weekend...
I sadly agreed, and wrote on my Facebook status about it...

Once upon a Monday twenty minutes later...
She called me and insisted on seeing that day’s next show of NINE...
I was confusedly happy when she said the reason was merely my happiness...
I then quickly changed my Facebook status with “my WIFE is the best”...

The above is MY side of the story...
And below here is HERS...

“Honey, it’s Monday night, I can’t come home late! I need to play with my son and get enough sleep for waking up early tomorrow. I’m sorry we couldn’t see NINE last weekend or tonight, but we can do it next weekend, I promise. Please...”

And then she went home with her Boss giving her a lift home as usual. In the car she checked out her Blackberry and found my Kripik-Singkong post on her Facebook wall that she hasn’t read all day. She imagined my enthusiastic face that morning and the disappointed one right then. Suddenly she asked to stop the car and get out of it, leaving her Boss confused. She then took the Angkot, a public minibus, to go straightly to the nearest cinema, bought two tickets of NINE and called me to go there immediately.

Her Facebook status then changed to this: “I don’t have the heart to disappoint a person who always makes me happy. So, Pram, my dear Son, I’m sorry for coming home late. Your Mom wants to make your Daddy happy tonight.”

Once upon a HAPPY Monday evening...
In contradicting one of the songs in NINE “My Husband Makes Movies”...
This time MY WIFE made a movie...
A happy movie, a surprising one...
A movie that even the remarkable NINE can’t win it over...

A movie about LOVE.
